WEST HARTFORD, CT — Adam Greenberg, a West Hartford native in the process of opening a restaurant in town, is set to appear on the next episode of Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games,” the Hartford Courant reported.
His episode airs Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. EST, and it’s titled “Food Network Champs.” He will face off against three other chefs who have won “virtually every Food Network contest”, according to the TV station’s website.
“But to make it to the final round, they must first compete in a pair of one-on-one sudden death matches,” the website says. “The two winners of the Double Pork Dish Battle face off in a final culinary showdown. The chef who satisfies the random food wheel restrictions and cooks the best champion dinner will win a guaranteed $15,000 and bragging rights. for life !”
Greenberg is no stranger to Food Network competitions: In 2016 he was crowned “Chopped” champion, and in 2018 he competed on “Beat Bobby Flay.”
Closer to home, Greenberg and his business partner are working on opening their restaurant – which will be called Sparrow, he told the Hartford Courant. They hope to open in late March, he said.
Greenberg envisions Sparrow as a cocktail bar that also serves tavern-style pizza, according to the newspaper.
