Discover the artist “Free Spirit” at the online exhibition of the Venvi gallery

Austin Palmer-Smith’s “Free Spirit” will air online at Venvi Art Gallery – Viewing room from June 4 to July 25, 2021.

The elusive and hypnotic reflection of the sparkling light on the surface of the water is captured in the brilliant paintings of the gallery’s latest online exhibition, “Free Spirit” by Austin Palmer-Smith. It gives birth to the meditative state and the tranquility that one can feel while looking at a vast seascape.

Working from a deep place of knowledge and trust, Austin relies primarily on intuition to create these works of art. As humans venture to Mars, most of the ocean is still unexplored. A giant mystery lingering on our home planet. These water-based paintings are expressions of worlds hidden within all of us. Depths that we really cannot understand and that we can only imagine, accept and appreciate.

Free Spirit will be Austin Palmer-Smith's first exhibition with the Venvi Art Gallery. Shown here is

Palmer-Smith was born in Paris where his mother was a model and his father was a fashion photographer. After studying painting with Lawrence Gipe at the University of California at Santa Barbara, he returned to New York City to paint murals for interior designers A List and their clients (Oprah Winfrey, Harrison Ford, Kim Cattrell to name a few) and produce a beautiful body of work. The artist felt at home painting murals. He says, give him “an excuse to paint a huge picture and [he] will be happy. “

The inspiration is a painting in the exhibition which really represents the whole work. The highly contrasting colors and the messy patterns of the waves evoke a poetic feeling. There is humility knowing that we are just a drop in the ocean, a fleeting wave in time and space.

"Inspiration" by Arnold Palmer-Smith can be seen online at the Venvi Gallery.

Palmer-Smith thanks Manhattan for most of its artistic inspiration. For a while he practically lived in the Metropolitan Museum of Art with his sketchbook, absorbing and drawing great works through the ages. Vincent Van Gogh and John Singer Sargent are some of the artist’s heroes and Palmer-Smith adopted their emphasis on the importance of drawing and sketching from life.

If you were to ever catch a glimpse of Palmer-Smith in New York, there’s a good chance he’s drawing, “waiting for the bus, train, or on the street, watching the seemingly limitless flow of forms and humanity.” . in the words of the artist himself.

“Free Spirit will be Palmer-Smith’s first exhibition with the Venvi Art Gallery. It will be available from June 4 to July 25, 2021 and the public will be able to purchase his works directly from the Venvi website by visiting the online viewing room.
