Every Vin Diesel Video Game, Ranked From Worst To Best

It may surprise some when Wine Diesel appeared in the trailer for Ark 2 at The Game Awards 2020, but the actor has been working in video games for a while. These past games, however, are a mixed bag. Diesel’s first foray into the gaming industry began with the founding of Tigon Studios in 2002. Since then, Tigon has worked on various games, most of which featured the fast furious actor in the lead role. Although technically still active, the studio has been silent since 2013, with its latest game, Barca BCin development limbo since 2006.

Most of the games released by the studio were movie tie-ins which to some extent reduced the studio’s maneuverability to play with the IP. As a result, while each game is interactive and immersive, they were largely filmed. However, like the Vin Diesel pop star’s debut single, “Feel Like I Do,” the actor gives his full attention to whatever project he’s working on, innovating when he can. Although Diesel and video games aren’t exactly synonymous, his passion is reflected in the games he works on.

However, while there have been entries that have received critical acclaim, some do quite the opposite. While it’s relatively simple to remove these games, it’s far more productive to pinpoint exactly why each game hasn’t lived up to its potential. Here are all the games Vin Diesel has starred in, and while some of them are worth forgetting, there are some underrated games that deserve a sequel or, at the very least, a remake.

#5 – Riddick: The Merc Files is Vin Diesel’s Worst Game

A departure from the 3D realism of the other two Chronicles of Riddick Games, Riddick: The Merc Files is a top-down action shooter for iOS and Android. Although it takes place in the world established by the film field black, the game lacks an overarching story. Instead, the story and gameplay simply revolves around the player as Riddick is chased by mercenaries and then hunts them down. As for related games, Riddick: The Merc Files is stripped down as they are more like a puzzle game than a game like Riddick’s Lone Assassin.

#4 – Fast & Furious Crossroads is not a good game Vin Diesel

Debuted at The Game Awards 2019 and is set in the fast furious film franchise, Fast and Furious Crossroads is an action racing game for PS4, Xbox One and PC. While the game featured epic boss battles with vehicles ranging from a massive hovercraft to a literal space rocket, the game pampered the player with a checklist of ways to stop the boss. Also, the driving was poor, and despite the new story made for the game, it was superficial and straightforward. While the game had plenty of action, a plethora of playable cars and allowed players to take on the role of their favorite characters in the fast furious franchise, it is unfortunately buried under a distracting game.

#3 – Wheelman is a decent Vin Diesel video game

A fast furious game in every aspect except name, helmsman starring Vin Diesel is an open-world action-adventure driving game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game surrounds the titular driver Milo Burik played by Vin Diesel and features various driving-oriented missions and objectives. Although the game had a story, it was relatively basic and forgettable. Thankfully, the gameplay offered a Hollywood experience, if insanely simple, with explosions and shootouts galore. Even an “Airjack” feature that allows players to hijack a car by jumping on it. A combination of GTA, Burnoutand crazy cab, helmsman make the player an action movie star.

#2 – The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay

A first person stealth action game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay acts as an origin story for Riddick. While the story was relatively simple – prison escape, Butcher Bay – the game was as immersive as other open-world games of different genres. Escape Butcher Bay does not have a traditional head-up display like Halo Where Call of Duty; instead, it had a minimalist health bar of little white boxes and on-screen cues to signal weapon pickups. Additionally, the combat was brutal, with weapons ranging from typical guns to more improvised weapons like shivs, leaning towards a more stealthy playstyle. There is even a segment where the player pilots a robot against the guards.

While the gameplay did Escape Butcher Bay very different from other games of the same genre, the performances of its cast of characters have further elevated the game. game to a cinematic experience. Escape Butcher Bay innovative gameplay using Diesel’s acting and performances.

#1 – Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is Vin Diesel’s best video game

A sequel to Escape Butcher Bay, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena would add to the gameplay mechanics and features of its predecessor. The game would add an awesome multiplayer mode, while taking advantage of new technology and improving both the graphics and the enemy AI. However, its multiplayer mode would be one of the highlights of the game, where Escape Butcher Bay was a primarily single-player experience, the “Pitch Black” multiplayer mode immersed players in the world of Riddick. Like the game mode juggernaut of Call of Dutythe game places players as Riddick or one of his prey, with the player able to kill Riddick taking his place.

Another improvement of Escape Butcher Bay is the dubbing of the cast. Taking advantage of Vin Diesel’s time at The Chronicles of RiddickDiesel’s voice and monologues would add to the game’s immersive experience. Assault on Dark Athena not only continues Riddick’s narrative but innovates the gameplay of an already award-winning game. Although the game can be interpreted as a simple add-on or expansion pack for Escape Butcher Bay, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a sequel to its predecessor for all intents and purposes. Thus, it earns its place as the best game featuring family oriented car lovers, Wine Diesel.
