Here’s who won a W at the 2021 Game Awards

Last night, the best games of 2021 and their makers were recognized for their efforts at the annual video game awards ceremony – The Game Awards 2021. With a name like this, what were you expecting?

The show was hosted by video game reporter Geoff Keighley and featured Matrix resurrections stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss as the award presenters. They were joined in their welcoming duties by Simu Liu from Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz from Sonic the hedgehog 2, industry friend Guillermo del Toro and Giancarlo Esposito de Far cry 6.

Let’s face it though, the four-hour affair is about the trailer’s debut just as much as the award-winning games. There were more than a few this year, so we’ve dealt with them separately here. If you’ve got four hours to spare and want to watch every minute of the show, you can watch it on YouTube (link below), but if you just want a recap of the top category winners, here they are. You can find a list of winners from each category here.
