The Atlanta Braves tied their National League Division Series with the Philadelphia Phillies at one game apiece after beating their NL East rival 3-0 on Wednesday from Truist Park.

Atlanta starting pitcher Kyle Wright went six innings on six shutouts while allowing just two hits and one walk.

National League contender Cy Young continued his blistering regular season pace when he went 21-5 with a 3.19 ERA and struck out nearly one batter per inning in 30 starts.

He didn’t run into much trouble on Wednesday.

A Bryce Harper double in the second period caused some concern, but Wright dropped the next three batters.

JT Realmuto hit a one-out single in the fourth to potentially start a rally with more power behind him in Harper and Nick Castellanos. They each hit long fly balls, but both fell into the gauntlet of center fielder Michael Harris II.

Atlanta did all their damage on the flat with two outs in the sixth after three straight RBI singles from Matt Olson, Austin Riley and Travis d’Arnaud.

From there, the Atlanta bullpen did its job with three shutout innings, allowing only one hit along the way.

Wright finally set the table for Atlanta, which bounced back from a tough 7-6 series opener loss the night before.

Staff ace Max Fried struggled uncharacteristically in Game 1 with four earned runs in 3.1 innings, and Atlanta needed a quality start from Wright to get back on track, especially with a taxed enclosure.

Now Atlanta won’t fly to Philadelphia in a do-or-die scenario for Game 3.

Here’s what Twitter thought of Wright, who is 8-0 in his last nine regular season starts and has continued his dominance over Philadelphia this year.

Kyle Wright really stayed calm when the Phillies had a runner on base. It’s been an important part of his development this season.

If there was an MLB Most Improved Player award, Kyle Wright would win it. From full liabilities with a 6.56 ERA and 6.2 walks per nine innings from 2018-2021, the Braves are poised to go 17-1 in his last 18 starts and lead the league in terms of victories.

It was one of the biggest and best playoff starts in Atlanta Braves history by my guy Kyle Wright. @Kyle_Wright44 @brave

Game 3 takes place Friday at 4:37 p.m. ET from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Aaron Nola will start for the Phillies. Atlanta did not announce its Game 3 pitcher until Game 2.
