Matchday Guide: Ticket Updates and Fashanu’s Return – News

Excitement is mounting as we prepare for another Dons game day at home – and we have sold over 6,500 tickets so far.

That means there’s still time to book your ticket to join us and welcome back a true Dons hero with John Fashanu visiting us for the first time since we got home.

‘Fash’ (pictured above playing at our old stadium in Plow Lane) will be shown on the pitch at 2.55pm, so please give him a warm welcome – and help create a special atmosphere as the Dons bid for three points that could move us into a play-off spot.

With our fantastic food park open for you to sample some of the best culinary delights you’ll ever taste on a game day, anywhere, come early and get in the mood for the big game as Johnnie Jackson’s rejuvenated bid goes game-out.

Below is a summary of how to get your ticket to the Dons vs. Barrow, along with other key information to ensure your matchday goes smoothly.

Tickets

There’s still time to grab your ticket and be a part of it all as you cheer on the Dons against an in-form Barrow side who are currently third in the table.

Buy in advance on our online ticketing .

Alternatively, you can get your ticket before the match at the Ry Stand ticket office (near gate five), but please note that prices increase by £2 for adults and concessions, if purchased in person or online match days.

Traffic on Plow Lane

Please note that Merton City Council has started work for segregated bikes on Plow Lane which will affect traffic on match days. We recommend that you allow more time for your trip if you are driving into the game.

Program

Our matchday schedule includes an extensive interview with our man of the moment – Nathan Young-Coombes. The on-loan Brentford striker gives an overview of his career so far after hitting the goal track in a big way while progressing through the ranks and he’s been prolific since joining the Dons.

The program can be purchased for £3 from the club shop, the Phoenix Pub, as well as inside each of our four stalls. Vendors will also be positioned outside the entrance to the Cappagh stand and along Plow Lane.

Food, drink and pub

Our fantastic food park (located behind the South London Movers Stand) offers the best of several different cuisines, served by local businesses, including:

  • Dough hut
  • my pie
  • Traditional Jerk Chicken
  • All burgers
  • ding ding

There will also be an ice cream van, offering a selection of treats to cool off in the sun. Many food and drink concessions are also available in the Cappagh (west) stand.

Unfortunately, due to fire regulations, fans in the Ry and Movers stands will not have access to the first floor concessions of the Cappagh stand. Accordingly, all fans seated in the Cappagh Stand will be required to show their match ticket or have their hand stamped in order to return to the first floor lobby.

Food trucks will stop serving at 6:00 p.m. with last drink orders from the Movers Stand bar at the same time. The Phoenix pub will remain open after the game. The pub will also serve spirits. Please note that the full range of spirits will be available after the final whistle until closing. Pre-mixed cans will be available before the final whistle.

Fans are allowed to bring water in a clear plastic bottle if they wish. However, no glass, can or metal bottle will be allowed. Thermos bottles are allowed.

Beat the queues with the SwipeStation app

Want an easy way to get your match day pint?

Try our innovative SwipeStation app, which allows fans to order a pint anywhere in the stadium before the game and then pick it up on a fast lane, pre-game or at half-time.

The app even works offline meaning you can place an order without a wifi connection. Obviously the app requires some initial connectivity to download so why not do it at home before you come to the game ?

We will be using SwipeStation machines in the Cappagh booth (west) and in the Ry booth (east). Camden Pale Ale and Stella Artois will initially be the two drinks available on SwipeStation.

Download SwipeStation from the App store Where google play and add your card details and email address (just like you would for Uber, or buying a drink in a pub!).

We have a downloadable user guide designed for mobile phones, so check it out now and order your pint for the game!

The club shop will be open from 11 a.m. with our friendly team on hand to help with any fan enquiries. There has been high demand for our new smart hummel kits, so be sure to get them quick while supplies last!

The club shop will close briefly at 2:45 p.m. and then reopen from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., so you can switch to a quieter time during the game.

Golden Goal Tickets

Tickets will go on sale at the Barrow match (priced at just £1) with the top prize of £100 (all funds raised going to the Club), so watch out for our Golden Goal vendors on Saturday. In case you missed it, read an article about Patrick Peel-Barnard and his role as a game day volunteer at our club.

Donations Local Action Group Food collection point

We will be holding collection points again on Saturday with supporters invited to donate food to the less fortunate in the community. Organized by our award-winning Donations Local Action Group (DLAG), fans will be able to drop off canned supplies – with urgently needed canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fish, canned fruit and pulses in canned. Food collection points will be located at each stadium entrance.

Reusable cups

We have a reusable beer cup program to replace all single-use plastic cups around the stadium. Once you have finished your beer, please dispose of your cup in the reusable cup bins located around the stadium. Please note that these are temporary crates until we receive new ones from our suppliers.

Children’s area

This will be open on Saturday. Fans will be able to meet Haydon, our favorite Womble, and there are plenty of fun activities for the kids too. The Kids Zone is located in the hall behind the family section, at the corner of the East and South stands. Especially for children from 5 to 12 years old, it is open from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. with activities organized in rotation. Please note that children MUST be supervised by their parents at all times.
