And thanks to modern high-end gaming smartphones, it has all become possible. If we’re talking about gaming devices, then you only have selected options to choose from.
The Nubia Red Magic is one such line of gaming smartphones. It rivals the Black Shark and Asus ROG series. What makes the Nubia Red Magic 3 special is the dedicated gaming slider painted red and the pneumatic triggers providing haptic feedback.
In this article, we share some tips and tricks for you to get the most out of Red Magic 3’s game mode.
How to activate the game mode
Activating game mode is pretty straightforward. You just need to slide the play key on the left panel. You get a plethora of features that can enhance the gaming experience on the device.
The home page shows you the list of maps where you can add any downloaded game. We tested the device with a few graphics-intensive games like PUBG, Modern Combat 5, and Asphalt 9. You can not only adjust the game controls but also the fan.
Nubia Red Magic 3 “Personal Center” play space tips and tricks
There are a bunch of controls that you will find on the first page of the game mode besides the game map. At the bottom of the screen you have the option “Cooling Fan”, Interstellar Belt, RedMagic Time and Block calls. At the top of the screen you get options for the Red Magic game handle and the “Personal Center”.
The Personal Center offers several functions such as ventilator settings, recording settings and basic settings. If you are a big gamer and want your device to stay cool for extended sessions, the “Fan” feature is what you need to tweak.
This mode has a “smart tune” feature that allows the device to adjust the fan speed according to the processor temperature.
Another feature available in this mode is rapid cooling, the main function of which is to activate the maximum fan speed. You can also change the settings for recordings using this Personal Center window.
For example, you can select video quality and also save Game Full and Game death video. While the former displays full gameplay, the latter records deaths in a match.
Finally, the Basic mode gives you the option to select the serene refresh rate between Auto, 60fps, and 90fps. It can also be used to turn on the Competitive Atmosphere LED (LED flashes when the game key is on) and also turn off / on constant brightness protection (close auto brightness).
Additional features of the Nubia Red Magic 3 play space
The play space mode has a myriad of options hidden inside a smart slider. You need to swipe left from the right edge of the screen to bring up this window. It displays useful information like device temperature, network speed, CPU and GPU performance.
There’s also a slider to adjust the screen brightness, saving you from having to pull out the notification bar separately for the same.
The device also has a 4D shock feature, but it’s limited to a handful of games like Knives out, Asphalt 9, PUBG Mobile, and QQ Speed only. It remains to be seen if this mode will support additional games in the future. You can adjust the haptic feedback as needed using this mode.
Interestingly, this smart slider also has a WhatsApp shortcut. It opens a small chat window in the left corner which you can also expand if needed. Other features offered by the smart slider include standby, docking station, SuperSnap and blocked calls etc.
