The resurgence announced at the Game Awards

Star Trek: Resurgence was announced as a new third-person narrative adventure set in the Star Trek universe by Viacom CBS Consumer Products. The game is being developed by a new fully remote independent game developer made up of several Telltale Games veterans and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC through the Epic Games Store.

The game is an interactive narrative video game that tells an original story set shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Parked aboard USS RESOLUTE. In it, players will take on the roles of two main characters, First Officer Jara Rydek and engineering team member Carter Diaz, as they unravel a sinister mystery involving two alien civilizations on the verge of war.

Throughout the game, players will immerse themselves in the Star Trek universe, interacting with new and old characters through a variety of dialogue and action gameplay to determine the course of the story.

The team includes Andrew Grant, former lead writer and creative director of Telltale; Dan Martin, former senior writer at Telltale; Kent Mudle, former film director and creative director of Telltale; and Brett Tosti, former executive producer and creative director of Telltale.

The game’s announcement on Twitter confirms that the game will be available in spring 2022.
