Tokyo Game Show 2022 Confirms List of Publishers, Sony’s Presence Seems Limited

The official Tokyo Game Show 2022 website is live and has confirmed many exhibitors who will be showing up at the annual showcase. This year’s event will be the first in-person event for the first time in three years.

A number of major publishers will be out in force at the show. These include Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, Sega/Atlus, Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic, Koei Tecmo, among others. However, there’s one major name that seems to have a somewhat limited presence, which is a little surprising considering the show takes place in the corporate backyard.

As spotted by Pushsquare, neither Sony Interactive Entertainment nor PlayStation are on the “General Exposure” list. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment will be present but that seems rather limited since the name appears further down the exhibitors page, although oddly listed under the ‘Indie Game Corner’.

The Tokyo Game Show 2022 runs from September 15-18 in Chiba, Japan. The first two days will be open only to professional visitors before opening to the general public on the last two days. We expect many announcements and updates on various Japanese titles during the show.

The official language of TGS is Japanese, but live interpretation into English is available for visitors and, as in previous years, the event will be held at one of Japan’s largest convention centers, Makuhari Messe. Last year’s Tokyo Game Show was a hybrid affair, with online and in-person events and activities, but for 2022 the focus is once again on physical and in-person, the show’s theme. of this year being “Nothing Stops Gaming”.

“During these two years, various fun events have disappeared from our daily lives, but games have still brightened our days. Games will continue to brighten everyone’s day now and forever – this year’s theme involves such determination,” the computer entertainment provider said. Association announced at the unveiling of this year’s TGS.

Those watching from afar can tune in to TGS via YouTube, Twitch and Twitter streams of official exhibitor and organizer programs.
